I’m Hiking With You
I love you so much.
It’s hard out here in this harsh world. A friend of mine cried today—first for sorrow, then for joy. And I love that she cried both kinds of tears. What a blessing it is to be showered with her empathy, her heart wide open to this messy, beautiful life.
Sometimes, this present moment can feel like a house we can’t afford. Overwhelming. Precarious. Impossible. But thank goodness for people like her, the ones who carry us with their kindness, who make it feel like we can walk through the valley of uncertainty. They remind us that we can navigate the path between today and tomorrow.
Do you have people like her in your life? If not, find them. Now. Because it ain’t easy, honey. Nothing about life is easy. But it’s so freakin’ worth it.
That’s why we invest in shared humanity.
Because in the walking of this uncertain path, we meet the parts of ourselves—and the people like us—that highlight the brilliance of existence. When we decide to hike a spiritual mountain, it’s so tempting to turn back at the metaphorical midpoint. But if we did, we’d miss the view. We’d miss the joy of our present, the wisdom of our past, and the glimmer of our future.
So count me in, honey. Like I told my friend today: “I’m hiking with you.”
I see your brilliance. Shining through the tears of financial stress, political polarization, family estrangement, inequality and injustice, childhood trauma, war, genocide — and all the weight of this world. And even amidst all that, there’s love, joy, and peace—so inherent to who we are as humans.
I cannot wait to hear about your view. I cannot wait to hear your story.
This part is rocky. 2025 is already a doozy—it’s dead man’s crawl. The path is made of sandstone. But you’ve got this. You’re experienced. You have all the gear you need to ascend. And you’ve got the crew—me included—to help you get there.
I LOVE YOU SO, SO, SO MUCH!!! Together, we can do anything.
I believe in us. Let’s hike!
